Hello Rob,

Thank you for making such a usefull app!
It is without a doubt one of the most usefull software i've ever used since i started using a computer.

I was wondering if it would be possible to make S+ start faster/before the other applications?

I'm using S+ to launch some applications and when my computer boot, i'm able to click and launch a program from the taskbar "long" before S+ is ready to be used to launch those applications.

Unfortunately, Windows is the one delaying the startup, not S+.

They do this to improve the user experience and decrease the boot up time.

You can override this delay using the registry:

Thank you for your quck reponse and advice.

I've tried the tutorial to disable the startup delay but it didn't help start the application as fast as i'd like (i didn't notice any difference).

I've found another tutorial explaing how to use an app as a service to make it start before login:

https://www.howtogeek.co...on-as-a-windows-service/

I'm hesitant to use this third party app (svrstart) downlodable from github as i don't have the necessary knowledge to tell if it isn't safe.

https://github.com/rozanski/srvstart

I've found this tool that seems to be able to speed up firefox start up time:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/ffpreloader/

Do you think any of those is worth trying?

To be honest, I don't really recommend running as a service, you will likely run into oddities especially since S+ interacts with the user interface (traditionally a service does not).

I don't really have any recommendations, as this isn't something I've had to deal with. I only reboot maybe once a week or so, and the ~10 seconds to let everything load doesn't impact me, so I've never tried any of the options out there.

I will follow your advice. You are right it doesn't take that much time to load (to be honest, i've never thought of it until using an equivalent application on linux which is loaded and ready to use as soon as the desktop appears). It's just me, i'm always trying to find ways to improve and make my work flow more efficient. That is exacltly, as a matter of fact, how i ended up using your awesome software. Thanks again for making my desktop experience better and thank you for being reachable and helpfull (i've always found the answers i was looking for by searching the strokesplus forum as you and other nice persons take the time to help out.)
