Hi Roland,

Sorry for the late response. I've been very busy and haven't done much on S+.net lately. But I do have your post on my list, when I get back into things, I will definitely set you up with a translator account.

Thanks!
Rob

Roland,

I've added you as a German translator.

Go to https://www.strokesplus.net/, click Sign In (in the upper right) using your forum username (Roland) and password.

Then click Translations and you should see a link for German (Germany) [de-DE]. Click the link to view the translation page.

You can download the resx file if you want to manage the translations in an external tool, then upload when you're done. But it's easier to just update them from the web page.

The items in red are the ones which need translation. The description column gives you some context of where/how the text is used.

When you click in the German field, it will copy the existing English text into the field as a starting point. You can clear out the text to start fresh, it's only there for certain text where I might have parameters injected to make sure you keep the same format (e.g. ActionEngineMethodExecutionFailedMessage).

Translator comment is just a comment, it doesn't go anywhere and is only used for the translation page if needed. You are technically the second translator for German, but the original guy isn't quite as active, so that could be a field used to add a note like "I changed this for x reason".

When you're done, you can either post in the #languages channel on the Discord server (https://discord.gg/5uHNFFn), or post a reply here. Then I go to the German page, download the resx file, and build it into the next release.

Thanks!
Rob

Hi Rob, sorry for the late reply, I didn't get a notification about your reply.

I've started with the translation.

I noticed that my already edited translations will be hidden as soon as I press Update.
Is there a way to keep ALL translations visible?
(I can't find the stuff in the resx file)

Cheers,
Roland

Hi Roland,

Thanks for working on the translations!

Okay, so let me understand your request, as I'm having difficulty visualizing. When I click the All translation link, it shows all of them and when I click Update, it continues to display all after saving (though it's very slow via this method since there are so many).

Perhaps I'm missing something, in terms of how you're looking to manage this. Could you elaborate a little more?

Thanks!

Ok, my fault, I wasn't in "All".
Thank you.

Hi,

sorry for not responding for a long time.
I was shocked by the number of missing translations.
What I intended to do was translating the few items in the UI.
I think translating scripting things are not important, as people using javascript will be used to english.
Now my problem is to find the entries for UI elements in that long list.
I am not sure about steps, bc I do not use this feature, scripting is more convenient for me.
What string can I search for in the left column to find UI entries?
I am already looking at "Needs Translation - Without Script Help Methods".

I need to update the page to also handle steps, meaning don't include script help or Steps help. They will all look similar, but I'm not at my computer.

I will follow up tomorrow, and update the page code as well.

Try it now, I've changed the translation help links and logic.

Thank you! I've added you as a translator for German.

Go here https://www.strokesplus.net/Translation and login with the same credentials as the forum.

Hopefully, the information on the page is self-explanatory, but reach out if you have any questions.

Be sure to let me know when you have updates that you're ready to have added, as this does not happen automatically when you update the translations.
